ALCHEMIST'S CONVENTION
A CERAMIC MEETING BETWEEN PAST AND FUTURE
During my internship at ceramic artist Bente Skjøttgaard's studio, I contributed to a group exhibition at Vejen Art Museum.
Using an XRF scanner, we researched old ceramic works by Niels Hansen Jacobsen, gaining insights to recreate and modernize glazes. Collaborating with The Conservation Center, we identified raw materials from the original works, resulting in an innovative and beautiful contemporary approach.
My series, "Characteristics of A Tree," consisting of five small ceramic pieces, was featured at the Art Museum as part of the exhibition.

MATERIAL AWARENESS FROM THE PAST
The research into the old ceramic works from Niels Hansen Jacobsen revealed a sustainable practice that focused on using only local materials and avoiding strong coloring oxides in favor of natural sources, such as clay types or ashes. This approach not only resulted in beautiful works of art but also contributed to a more environmentally friendly and responsible way of creating ceramics.
In some of the old texts of Jean Carries is mentioned " It should look like, if it was taken up from the ground".
